Scholarship Applications are now open!

The Hawai'`i's Daughters Guild of California supports the ever increasing educational need and goals of woman of Polynesian ancestry.  Our commitment is to help young women achieve their post-secondary educational endeavors through mentoring and scholarship awards.  Since 1970, we have awarded more than $350,000.00 in scholarships and we look forward to assisting many more women as they reach for the stars.  Nothing is impossible when you have the support of family and friends. Application Requirements

  • Female of Polynesian ancestry. 
  • California resident. 
  • Minimum 3.0 GPA

Eligibility Requirements

       Applicants must meet of the following requirements: 

  • Enrolled as a full-time student at an accredited College/University in the academic year following High School graduation. 
  • Enrolled as a full-time student in the academic year immediately following scholarship award. 
  • Continuing full-time undergraduate student. 
  • Enrolled as a full-time graduate student in the academic year immediately following bachelor's degree program.

Required Documents

  • Official Transcripts- High school, college, or university.
  • Three letters of recommendation from teachers, counselors, employer, or community organization.
  • Autobiographical Essay.  
  • Proof of Pacific Islander Ancestry. 
  • Personal Interview. (to be scheduled)

Autobiographical Essay

     Scholarships are awarded on a competitive basis.  Consideration is given to scholastic achievements, extra-curricular activities, community service, financial need, background, and career goals.  These topics should be described in the autobiographical essay.

Additional Notes:

  • Renewal applications are available for continuing undergraduates and/or postgraduate students that were HDG Scholarship recipients.
  • Applicants are responsible for ensuring that all application materials, including transcripts and letters of recommendation, are submitted by the postmark deadline as a complete application packet.  Late or incomplete applications will not be considered.
